Selecting a florist
Start searching for a florist at least three months before the
wedding. If you're planning to marry around Christmas or
Valentine's Day, when flowers are less available, you'll need
to be sure you've chosen your florist up to six months
before the date. (Unfortunately, flowers tend to be more
expensive at these times of year.)

As with everything else, word of mouth is the best way to
find someone reliable. If you have trouble getting good
referrals from friends, consult the Yellow Pages or visit
florists' booths at area wedding expositions. Ask for photos
of previous displays the florist has done; check references
to make sure there is a history of quality work for actual
customers.

Once you decide on a florist, be sure to get a written
contract stipulating costs, times, dates, places and services.
Make sure the florist is set to arrive before the
photographer, so everything will be ready when picture time
comes.
